Pillars

Healing:
Transformation; spring, the east

“You always had the power, my dear. You just had to learn it for yourself.”
~Glinda, the good witch of the north

Guiding question: Is this in service to healing?

We believe that engaging in holistic healing practices for our hearts, minds, bodies, communities, and the land is essential for creating harmony, health, and regeneration of our planet.

Some ways we embody this pillar are by encouraging and cultivating healing through food, herbs, and alternative medicines; regenerative farming practices and earth-friendly building; creative expression, energy medicine and individual and collective trauma healing. Through these practices, we claim and honor our inherent wholeness.

Joy:
Expansion; summer; the south

“I slept and dreamt that life was joy. I awoke and saw that life was service. I acted and behold, service was joy.” ~Rabindranath Tagore

Guiding question: Is this in service to joy?

Joy is our guide: we create in joy, we are aligned in joy; our community is birthed and encompassed in joy. We embody joy as a state of being that can be cultivated regardless of external conditions.

Some ways we practice this pillar are by following the wisdom of our internal joy compass, being in the flow, finding the blessings in the challenges, bringing lightheartedness and humor to our work and play.

Service:
the harvest; autumn; the west

“We’ve all been given a gift, the gift of life. What we do with our lives is our gift back.”
                                         -Edo

Guiding Question: What is my gift to contribute?

We affirm being of service is a profound gateway to purpose, belonging, and healing. Through our gifts of service we discover the answer to the question “Who am I and why am I here?” We contribute our gifts from a full cup, in joy, on purpose, while deeply honoring each others’ contributions.

We embody this pillar through being of service to the land and to each other, creating accessible community events, education, and healing practices, and giving of our time, treasure and talents for our community and for the greater good of humanity.

Connection:
Contemplation, winter, the north

“We are hardwired to connect with others; it’s what gives purpose and meaning to our lives, and without it there is suffering.” Brene Brown

Guiding question: Will this action lead to greater connection?

We are passionate about creating a community where each person is deeply connected with self, each other, spirit, and the land.

Some ways we embody this pillar are by engaging in spiritual practice, a commitment to self growth, open communication, willingness to give and receive support, fun group activities, and honoring and listening to the land.
